Accessing ProcessMaster and Creating a ProcessMaster Shortcut

THE FOLLOWING STEPS ARE FOR PROCESSMASTER CUSTOMERS THAT HOST THEIR OWN DATABASE.

Steps required to create a shortcut to open your ProcessMaster database directly from your desktop.

Best Practices

The best way to access your ProcessMaster database is by first opening FileMaker Pro on your machine.
Then in the top file menu go to File > Open Remote…
Select “Local Host” from the View drop down list.
Select your Server from the Hosts box.
Then select “ProcessMaster” from the Available Files box.

Creating a Shortcut/Opener File

We will often get asked if there is an easy way to open ProcessMaster rather than opening FileMaker Pro, clicking Open > Remote etc.

With FileMaker Pro 12 or greater, creating a ProcessMaster Shortcut is quite easy. You need to know 2 things to get started.

1. What is the IP Address of your ProcessMaster Server (Your IT team can tell you that)
2. What is the exact name of the ProcessMaster database (in most cases this will be “ProcessMaster.fmp12".

Mac OS/X

To create the opener open Safari

Type into the Address bar the following

fmp://[Server IP Address]/ProcessMaster.fmp12

e.g. fmp12://192.168.1.250/ProcessMaster.fmp12 or fmp://10.1.1.100/ProcessMaster.fmp12

Before you hit enter, drag the link to the Desktop (Mac) or Save as a Bookmark (PC). Rename the Saved File “Launch ProcessMaster”

Everytime you open this link, ProcessMaster will open.

Windows

Right Click on your desktop and create a New Shortcut.

Set the target location to:

fmp://[Server IP Address]/ProcessMaster.fmp12

e.g. fmp://192.168.1.250/ProcessMaster.fmp12 or fmp://10.1.1.100/ProcessMaster.fmp12

Double click on the new shortcut to open ProcessMaster.
